SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The Internet of Things (IoT)

Digica are developing IoT applications that connect physical devices around the world via the internet to collect and share data.

What we do

We design and build Internet of Things (IoT) applications. IoT device software technology is a classic embedded software system problem, with the additional complexity that the devices are often located in harsh environments, with limited power, storage, and connectivity.

Digica has built applications based on custom IoT cloud platforms, and we have also worked with a range of third-party technologies including Azure, Amazon, Google, IBM, and Oracle IoT cloud platforms.

We’ve built application front ends for both the web and the cloud.

We select specific technologies for application development depending on project requirements and back end constraints.

our motto

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm" - W. Churchill

Use case

  • Smart flow metre firmware - Firmware was based on an RTOS (Real Time Operating System) and third party IoT platform. Apart from IoT we had to design and implement the whole firmware. Solution was utilizing multiple RTOS tasks running on two different processor's cores. As for any battery powered device low power consumption was top priority. It was achieved by utilizing multiple features such as different sleep modes and low power coprocessors.
We worked closely with the customer to quickly respond to necessary changes as the customer's hardware was being modified.
